this is very well written, Barbara, you did an excellent job writing this chapter where cash pulls walker off of paige and then Bradley puts a knife into walker and kills him after he tried to kill cash

Hi Barbara:)

Walker should have just given up after it was obvious that he had lost the fight with Paige and Cash. His attemt to knife Cash in the back certainly backfired, not because he failed to hurt Cash, but because his attemt brought Paige to Cash's defense.

Did the ghost really slid the knife to Paige? I don't know, but it makes a good story. The only problem that I have is that Paige stabbed Walker' not once but repeatedly'. This could cause problems with self defense claims.
Love and more Irish Hugss for showing that Paige had enough courage whe the situation required it.

Hello:

Very intense fight scene, in which Paige and Cash reacted with courage and determination. I like Paige's insistence that she was aided by a ghost.

Just one question: Would punched sound better than slugged?)from her and repeatedly slugged (punched) Walker's already battered body.

Take care,

Ray

Thank you for the kind review and dropping by. I had punched and changed it at the last minute. I will rethink it.

This is a great chapter, you made it exciting and a fun read, wow, Paige killed Walker with the help of a ghost. That is a great twist.

Your chapter is terrific as it is, I am just offering you some alternatives on a couple of lines that you may like to up the intensity a bit.

Billy Joe helped Paige to her feet, and then to a chair. He grabbed Cash around the shoulders and dragged him away -

Billy Joe helped Paige to her feet, and into a chair. He grabbed Cash around the shoulders and dragged him away

Cash turned as a knife grazed his back shoulder blade, cutting his shirt.

The knife had fallen to the side. Paige noticed as it moved toward her. She grabbed it and thrust it into Walker's side, not once but repeatedly and yelled, "Take that!"

The knife had fallen to the floor. Paige watched as the blade inched its way toward her on its own accord. Without thought she grabbed it and thrust it into Walkers side, not once but repeatedly and yelled, "Take that!"

please ignore my punctuation, lol not my strong point.

Wow! Paige killed Walker! What a great fight scene, Barbara.
At first I thought they were just going to disable him, but then the ghost moved the knife toward her.
Fine dialogue. Enjoyable and exciting chapter.

She pulled the safety key and sprayed Walker's face. - Smart cookie, smart cookie!

"Paige!" Cash lifted Walker from her and repeatedly slugged Walker's already battered body. - Whoop his butt, Cash. Whoop him!

"It's over." - Um no offense to the author, but I ain't buying that one. I just know some more drama is a click away.

Cash turned as a knife grazed his back shoulder blade, cutting his shirt. He jumped up, clutched Dwayne by the throat, and shook him.
- See I knew it, I just thought it was coming in the next chapter. Ooo-wee.

The knife had fallen to the side. Paige noticed as it moved toward her. She grabbed it and thrust it into Walker's side, not once but repeatedly and yelled, "Take that!"
- Oh crap. You can not be setting Paige up to doing time, especially over Walker's worthless but. Oh heck no.

she's not going to take it well." - Life is sacred, including Paige's. Walker would have not given a wit about taking hers. Sorry but the bastard got what he deserved, and I hope the rest of the Walker clan remembers that too. Uh.

I love this chapter. Paige clearly has gone from being hapless to having some grit. Even is it took her life on the line for it to surface. Now if Cash will step up and claim his woman I can read in peace.

Well, I guess he isn't going to bother her again. The detective can't charge her because she was acting in self defense. Still, I agree, she's going to be really upset when she finds out that she helped kill the guy.

Barbara:

I suspect most of us wouldn't take kindly to learning
we took part in ending someone else's life, but there
are certainly situations where it is either kill or be
killed - at that point, our instinct to protect ourselves
kicks in.

thanks for sharing
