Hi Barbie, a nice chapter full of action. I liked the red herring with the alligator. It gave the reader a breather. So the plot thickens with the treasure. Well penned. luv jada

Barbara, My son took me to one of my favorite restaurants yesterday (one I haven't been to for a long time), and I got a BIG piece of peach pie to bring home. I know it will be good because the place is known for its homemade pies, and customers were buying slices like crazy. In fact, "our table" bought nine slices in all. (Besides peach, I got strawberry-rhubarb, another favorite.)
A good continuing chapter. I expect that the boys will be searching the underground tunnels before long?
As the waitress,(no comma) poured fresh cups of coffee, Amos continued,

I like strawberry-rhubarb myself and I haven't hade it in years. Oh my, you brought back memories. I appreciate your kind review.

Hi Barbara,
A ghost helping get the son/grandson snaffle the treasure from the Walkers - who seem to have happily played the Yankee card when it suited them - is a nice touch. I wouldn't mind having a helpful ghost like that batting for me!
A 'gator that big would be an old one - and he must have been well fed down the years.

I enjoyed this chapter very, very much. I found it informative and most definitely fascinating. Not sure if I would want to get that close to an alligator, they can be pretty scary critters. You have my curiosity piqued and I anxiously look forward to the next chapter.

So there are underground tunnels and there is a treasure and one big alligator. Never ate any, not sure I'd really want to. Good chapter. God loves you and so do I.

Alligators happen to fascinate me because they date back to dinosaur times. Anyway, thank you for the kind review.

Oh they are getting closer to the treasure aren't they? It helped to talk to him for sure. I guess they will investigate the tunnels.

Hello. These characters are just that real characters. I love the dialogue and the banter. And the small details that make it so real. I look forward to the next chapters

Consider:
"As Amos moved closer, he studied Cash and Billy Joe and then pointed a corn cob pipe at Cash.
"Ya must be da man smitten by dat Yankee gal. I heard tell she's as purdy as a speckled pup."
Remember KISS, for ex:
"Billy Joe grinned. OMIT "...and looked at Cash.
"Nobody done found it...yet!

There is nothing wrong about using Spiritual help as long as it gets ten per cent. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words.
