Sometimes simplicity is the key and as you've shown here
quite effective and clever poetry can still be created.
The pool itself is simply designed to create the maximum effect.
Clever combination of poetry and chosen image.

The form is rather like an abbreviated sonnet. I enjoyed the color contrasts and serenity, along with the rhyme scheme. The combination of your words and photograph made it like being there. Enjoy the rest of Christmas Day- Joan

I must admit I can see the temptation very clearly and I am pretty certain many a child have had that temptation and perhaps some have not been able to resist in that mad dash to feel the cool water on their feet. Well done.

You never know what would bite you if you put your toe in that, Treschiel. Could be an alligator in there somewhere.
A lovely picture for a quiet moment.
The moment lasts forever. It is captured.
Best wishes,
RGstar

Hmm, I reserve my dipping to the times I surf fish salt water, from the Atlantic Ocean through the coastal regions of the Gulf of Mexico. I have a special affection for the sea.

    Thanks joneau2, the sea is awesome, I loved watching the storm when they blew in on Long Island.

Beautiful image--well-crafted quatrains to complement the photography;
Images created by man easily attract the eye in the same fashion as nature.
Excellent!

Hi, Treischel,
This is an excellent poem with good aabb rhyme scheme except that for me "too" does not rhyme with "pool" in the first stanza. Other than that it has good rhyme and flow. The figurative language and imagery are excellent.

To dip the toe would only vibrate the waters, thus taking away from the stillness and beauty of should a glorious scene. Yes, tempted, but how could one dip without knowing of the consequences of ruining the ravishing set? The rhyming was very nice and added much support to the message of the poem. Thank you for sharing.
