Dialogue is well done, effective and in a manner people would actually employ. The story progresses fast enough that the reader doesn't get bored while still providing all of the necessary information. Especially liked how the narrative is interspersed with the dialogue rather than taking up big blocks of the piece.

Cash and Paige love story, I miss your story for more than three months, for I just renewed my membership about two days ago. But as always I enjoyed this chapter too, the mystery, the doubts cast upon Paige intensified the tension and conflict and made the plot more interesting and exciting. Thanks for sharing the story, God bless.

Hi, Barb. As usual, very good characterizations and superb dialogue. The images are solid too, like this:
"Cash took Paige's arm and led her away from the others. "Don't you think it's about time you come clean about the special-effects? How much did they cost? They must've been really good."
I amy be wrong but I would ad something here as it seems so cold for some reason. Even if she is angry at him:
""Cash mentioned it." Perhaps: "Yes--Cash did mention it."
Happy Thanksgiving, Barb. Bob

An interesting and mysterious tale. Ghosts are always a great subject to write about. I wonder if this ghost is benevolent?
You left a good hook for the reader to want to continue.

Well, the policemen believe there are ghost but it seems something that Billy Joe and Cash aren't ready to accept. Paige says Cleve taught her not to trust men, but it seems as though Cash must have had some experience in the past that left him unwilling to trust women.

You are probably correct about Cash. Maybe we need to delve a little more into this not talking Southern boy. Thank you for the kind review.

Told in a direct manner without pretension. Everyone involved knows their place and acts accordingly..Officer Baker comes to mind. As for Paige she's caught between a rock and a hard place. For ex:
"Paige glared at Cash. "I don't know anything about this. I honestly had nothing to do with it."
Well told and presented.

I can't wait to see what was caught on tape. I also look forward to Cash's reaction if Bradley Bookman does appear. This post shows there are still a lot of trust issues on both sides. Paige obviously doesn't trust men after what Cleve did to her, and Cash doesn't trust Paige enough to believe her when she said she didn't use special effects. I get the feeling something major is going to happen to force these two to learn to trust again. I look forward to finding out how that is going to happen :-)

Looks like certain folks don't trust Paige. It seems they have been friends for a long time yet there is that trust thing. I wonder if they have reason not to trust her. I suppose we will find out in the next chapter. Interesting so far.
