Oh, I sure loved the way you left us with a great hook ending, barbara. I would have to agree with Billy Joe in his assessment of what both Paige and Cash don't want to admit. Another most enjoyable chapter. Warm regards, Bev

As usual, another great chapter. I don't critique everyone I read, but I read everyone.
That said, let me bring something up.
You use a lot of shortened words, "sleepin' - watchin' - ol' and so on. I understand that's the way people talk, but if you overdo them they become blas? and lose their effectiveness.
I got kick out of Billy Joe saying there were too many Yankees come down to Atlanta. He should see what they've done to my Florida.
Your dialogue flows along smoothly, nothing forced.
I enjoyed the read.

Thank you for the kind review. I only use that dialogue when Billy Joe speaks. Other's speak regular, if there is a regular.

Ah, this is an intriguing chapter, Barbara; what has happened back home? What a coincidence too, that Paige's ex, who was just tossed from her home has had a car accident and was killed. Too, there is the insinuation that things are developing quickly between Paige and Cash...you leave your readers dangling very nicely...

Good smooth introduction. The tone is set from the start. Good character balance. Smooth dialogue. Good transition between the events. Good steady pace that intensifies leading this chapter to a suspenseful conclusion.
