I love this! So much said in so few words. I hosted many exchange students from 1997-2004. Two I took to both Grand Canyon & Las Vegas, in separate years. One saw the GC first, the other LV first. BOTH came to the same conclusion: Man's 'art' pales in comparison w/ God's art. Both were disappointed in LV. Both were awed by the GC.
Love this poem!!

Hi, Treischel,
This is an excellent rhyming couplet and interesting idea. It has figurative language "chiseled works of man" for sculpture I suppose. If you do not have a copy right I may try it. Might be worth a whole quatrain with related questions.

I think not but rather may strive to enhance nature's plan.
A clever style and format. Congratulations on being so clever.
It works quite effectivel especially when accompanied by a great and fitting picture.

This is a great poem! No chiseled works are not competition for nature's beauty that God has blessed us with. This was well wriiten and told so much in just a few words. Sara :)

No it can not, for natures plan was created by the Creator and everything he created was Good and no need for recreation. Works of man always needs re-polishing because man is truly never satisfied with what he created himself.
A great poem...A Couplet Query...interesting.

Dear Tom,
This is powerful thought provoking piece - even more so with only two lines you have created a huge impact and left me a few moments to ponder your thoughts. Wish I had a six for you - I love work that lets dive deep and ponder the message.
Excellent posting my friend.

Great poem, format, and question! The question raised in my mind was the following:
Is the beauty of nature's plan
The result of God's divine hand?
I like the idea of a couplet query.

Thank you NSA arose. Yes, certainly.

Interesting. Seeing as in the second line, you begin with "match" and the photo is of a chiseled lantern in the Japanese garden, I would have to say you are suggesting yes.

Can any chiseled works of man
Match the beauty of Nature's plan?
A fine write Tom and a good question. I guess we'll never really know. Nature has such a good plan, I rather doubt it.
