Well! She certainly told him off. It's a good thing that she has the money to do all this. It has to be a blessing to be so well off. This Dwayne Walker certainly is a very rude person. If he is a doctor, why did she call him 'Mr.' Is she trying to demote him because of his rude behavior?

Yes, Paige is demoting him. He has a PHD in art. Thank you for the kind review.

Okay, this is good. Now more conflict. This keeps the reader very glued. Does Paige have more wealth besides the house? I like the way you handled this prejudice and put him in his place.

This is an exciting writing, giving the reader a little further insight into what may be happening in this story. I don't know, but he is suspicious for certain. I love the twists and turns you have made in writing this.

This is another marvelous segment, Barbara, with an excellent build up to the challenge at the end. It seems as if a strong conflict working its way to the surface. A terrific story.

Hah! Damn worthless jackal! Run him off, Paige! I almost hope he raises a hand to her because he'll get the thrashing he deserves if he tries! Oh you have my blood boiling again, author!!! LOL

You led me along with rapt attention. The tension can be felt. Good conversational writing that moves along at a good pace. Being Australian I don't fully understand all the nuances of the tension between North and South but a basic understanding is sufficient. Interestingly, I've just posted a chapter in my own story about death in childbirth in an era much earlier than our own (1800 BC for me!). Thanks again for the read.

Dr. Walker is such a rude and obnoxious man. I do hope he doesn't harm Paige, but if he does I don't doubt Cash will defend her. I found the scene when they discovered Ann had died before her grandchildren very touching. It appears the passing on the brooch ended with her. Excellent chapter and I look forward to finding out what Dr. Walker does, if anything, to Paige.

Okay, I suspect Cash will have something to say about the good doctor lunging at Paige. Great hook to leave us with, Barbara. You're so mean!!! LOL!

Good use of dialogue. I like how Paige managed to squeeze an apology from him. Great stuff!

"Mr. Walker owes you an apology." Her eyes met his. "Mr. Walker?" - Since he's a doctor, I suggest you use 'Doctor Walker' rather than Mr. Walker.

Just a thought.

Well done! I look forward to the next. Cash to the rescue, I hope.

Hugs,

Av

He's not a doctor, doctor, he had his PHD in art. Paige is on purpose doing that to him to degrade him. I will bring that out in the next post. Thank you for the kind review.

Ah, I wondered if that was your reason for writing it that way. Nice!

Great characterization of Paige in this when she shows her sadness over what have happened to Ann that she didn't live to see her children married. I love Faye's reaction to the visitor at the door as she asks where's the shotgun? She is feisty. Dr. Dwayne Walker shows up, full of abuse for Nala and exclaiming that the work on the house should have already been finished. Paige sets him straight about the ownership of the property. I may have missed it, but I didn't catch a reference to Paige's resigning earlier. If it wasn't included earlier, I wonder if you should have made a slight reference to it earlier, so we'll be prepared in this chapter. Definitely six star work. judi

Paige talked it over with Mary Pat before. I appreciate your kind review and taking time to read.

Hi, Barbara. Sorry I didn't remember that, but it's been a while. We'll find out if Walker is behind some of the strange happenings at Paige's house. judi

Good chapter, Barbara. Sounds like things are going to get heated up. Good that Paige has protection so near. No spags that I could see.
