Hi, Barb,
I love this chapter! Paige so polite in her dressing-down of him. GREAT!
I hope it's Cash to the rescue, with Morgan following on his heels.

As an old personality in Australia once said "You tell em luv!" I am so glad to see the truth all coming out big time.
This is nice and feisty talking and writing.

Hi Barbara:)
I loved this chapter. Paige is finally showing her backbone as she puts the bigoted Dr. Walker in his place. He obviously is part of a plot to claim Paige's mansion on y he basis of rumored family documents. It is clear that he wants the property to sell and save his family from foreclosure.
I think the mysteries of the old mansion are about to be resolved.
I found no SPAG and now I send my love and Irish Hugs to carry on the fight against bigotry.

This chapter read well. And you conveyed his rudeness to Nala very well. I liked the tension. Did he hit her? Not sure, I'll have to read the next chapter.

Enjoyed your story about life in the south. I admire how Paige deals with the southern land holder and former leader of the town, Dr. Dwayne Walker. Especially like her response to the racist about his property. "Not any more. You lost the money playing the Chicago commodities and the state's about ready to foreclose on the property because you're behind on taxes." "Maybe I'll buy the land and give it to Nala for a Christmas present."

Dr. Walker's a big ass. I love the idea that Paige could buy him out. Even more fun to think of Nala owning part of it. Nothing finer than turning the tables on a prejudiced red neck. Nicely done, barb. I enjoyed the read.

Although this selection is a small, I got the gist of the story and maybe a snapshot of the characters. The dialogue gives you an idea of the characters, the protagonist, the antagonist, and the problems. My hat is off to you.

Ok. This is my first visit to this novel, but it won't be my last. You've got me hooked. I do enjoy North/South battles, and your characters seem well defined. When I have more reading time, I'll come back and start from Chapter one! :-)
