Good Morning, Dean
I enjoyed your poem of lament about the state of things in our world. So many of the issues you've addressed are very, very real and causing such pain. I think the most serious issue is the disintegration of the family unit.
May I offer one suggestion for your consideration>?

Congratulations for your poem being nominated for POM contest! Best wishes to you in the voting booth.

Fantastic write, my friend. Excellent finishing line, D. Never thought of the world as that kind of blue before. I've written many poems like this but never put them together with 'blue.' Some day we'll have to get together so you can tell me in detail the secrets of getting a killer 'moving' picture on something I write, lol. Excellent piece, Dean. I'm heading to the booth now. Best of luck, friend.

We will, DragonSkulls, I'd be happy to tell you how to do it.
I am very grateful for your take on this one. I had my doubts when I wrote it initially, thinking many would find it too dark. I'm happy to know that those doubts were without merit.
Thank you again, my friend!

You're flat out kicking ass in the booth. Congrats, friend. Have a good one.

This is outstanding work. It flows perfectly and not only does it flow, as I was reading it my heart kept fluttering. How true your words are. What I really liked it how the earth does look blue but you're saying it has the world being sad. I love it!!

Wow. I wish I had a six...really a ten. This is speechless and breathtaking. Soooooo true....so deep with things we take for granted and the small things we fail to do. Very powerful write Dean. Truly.

Dean, I read this yesterday and it touched
me so much - not only the poem, which is
exceptional but the music you've added -
that I had to come back today to read it
again and give you the six it deserves.
thank you for sharing this with us.
regards,
Margaret

Thanks so much, Margaret, that was so very kind of you. I am very happy it connected with you. It's one of the favorite things I've ever written. I felt it, very deeply, as I was writing it. I feel all of my poems, but this one...I wept as I wrote it, I must admit. I believe I'll shy away from the mayhem of the evening news from now on, just stick to watching my old horror flicks at night once again. They are a lot less terrifying.
Thanks so much for this wonderful surprise!

I often walk out of the room when the news is on, Dean, as I get emotional when I hear of all the killings and see those people weep...
I think this is the best you've ever written, (in my humble opinion) which moved me deeply.
That just shows how talented you are, my friend.
Stay well.
Margaret

Excellent!
Well-penned statements of a world once filled with sunshine now depleted into darkness;
Many a time we all ponder a flight of freedom into peaceful skies of a perfect world;
A melancholy, fact-laden writing.

This is a wonderful poem. The tone is appropriate with the theme. You inspire strong emotions. The word choice is good. The picture is great.

I had to give you my last six. This poem is heart-wrenching, especially with all the things going on today. I was just telling a friend my mom is 78, (dad died last year, they were married 58 years) but now she is glued to CNN all day long, completely engrossed in the Syria situation. At her age, at any age, we should not have to be worrying about this stuff. She insisted I watch all of Obama's speeches with her recently, we aren't even American, but it affects us all.
Sorry I don't mean to rant. Your poem is amazing, the artwork, music, everything. Thanks for sharing. :) Sandra

Hi Dean
This is an exceptional poem as so many other reviewers have said.
It's a theme that speaks to so many of us who are getting older and even younger ones that "watch the news and get bombarded with horror".
I like the animated gif - great to see that on Fanstory - as a graphic person, I feel that so much can be said in pictures - like our forerunners did with their pictograms in the caves - the start of poetry

You're right, webfoot, I feel exactly the same way when it comes to the overall presentation. A picture says a thousand words, so, we don't have to, LOL...
Thanks for your fabulous review.
