Morgan's really proved his worth by alerting Cash and Billy Joe about where Paige and Mary Pat were. A good thing they've brought in the police. We know that the possibility of a treasure hidden in the house has brought out the troublemakers. Although Paige has no knowledge of a treasure. The assailants wore masks, so the women don't know their identity. Great interest in this. Paige is surely realizing Cash's concern and feelings for her. She won't be so quick to brush him aside in the future. judi

The poor girls. They've been through some ordeal! It's a good thing the menfolk were around to rescue them. Now the police are involved this is getting serious. Treasure...the plot is becoming twisted.

Well, that wasn't a fun experience. How come the deputy is fingering his gun? Cash and Billy Joe wouldn't do something like that. The dog would be upset with them if they had. :) nancy

Now we are seeing Cash's concern for Paige and getting some response from her as well, the love affair seems to be getting hopeful.

Cash fears this episode will make Paige move away and I think he would be so sad about that so I hope it doesn't happen. They will keep hunting until they find the culprits. At least we now know they are after a treasure of some kind but Paige is clueless ass to where it could be or even if it exists. Once again a riveting chapter Barbara. Great use of dialog keeps the story moving, and the reader guessing.
The policeman would naturally be suspicious of Cash and Billy Joe. Although it is most unlikely, it adds a little more to the mystery.
One little error, Marty Gras,should be Mardi Gras. But my guess it is spell check that did not accept the correct spelling.
