Oh no you didn't! You can't stop there! How exciting, this one had me glued to my seat. Very well done, I think it's completely riveting and I can't wait for the next one. But, then I guess I'll just have to wait. Great job of keeping your reader involved. Characters are always good and dialogue too.

You really do know how to keep the reader hanging on. No wasted words as usual and just when I'm really in to it...the chapter ends. LOL
Good writing
Cheers

Hi Barbara:)
So this attack on Paige and Mary Pat was just a homwe invasion. Apparently the purpose is not thrift, but perhaps to continue looking for old family documents to overturn Paige's inheritance.
It is likely that the documents were just a family legend and the documents are no more than a ;pipe dream.
I hope the girls are tied up in the old nud room with no serious injuries.
This was an excellent chapter with great urgency. I think the first thing that Cash would do would be to call the police to report a burglary and missing girls.
I thought the search for the women was too helter-skelter. I know they are worried, but Cash, in particular, seems to be an organizer./ After this, I bet Paige won't want Cash out of her sight.
I hope you escaped all the bad weather. My daughter Kaye and her husband tried to out run the El Reno tornado and almost got trapped in the mess on I-4 as the raced east from Yukon to Okemah.
Kaye added to our anxiety by calling on her cell phone in a state of near panic. Marilyn and I were up all night waiting to find out that they were safe as was their home.
Love and Irish Hugs for more great writing.

We haven't had any tornados, but my prayers have gone out to the areas where the weather has been horrible. Thank you for your kind review. I always enjoy hearing from you.

I'm guessing they're hearing the dog in a secret passage. And I'll bet Paige isn't with him. This is getting exciting, barbara! :) nancy

Just by reading this chapter, I can feel this mysterious atmosphere full of suspense. I hope you'll find the time, before going for summer vacation, for the next instalment... PLEASE dear Barbara!

Oh, oh, the tesnion is building and just as we wonder what that noise is --GROAN --you cut off our life-string and switch off the TV! Yep, it reads like a movie and you pulled the plug. Can't wait for the next instalment!

The action is coming thick and fast now. I mlove the way that you convey the drama of the missing girls in such brief, economical terms. And Cash's self-realization.

Ah! so we still don't know what is going on. I hope the dog wasn't killed. But if they heard growling - probably not.
This sentence sounded slightly off to me:
"They might've killed him. He's already protective with Paige."
Perhaps drop the word 'already'.

I see what you're saying. I thought because Morgan is so young, I would have the 'already' there, but it doesn't need it. Thank you.

Although I haven't read any but this one post it worked well to draw me in. I am now curious enough to go back and catch up. Awesome job.

Well Cash and Billy Joe got there fast. The house is a mess with no trace of Paige, Mary Pat or Morgan. Through the dialogue, I could feel how frantic the men are in their search.
