I don't think you are drawing this out at all. I like the pause in between, it give me time to catch up. I wonder who those women are and what they want. If I were Paige I wouldn't want strangers traipsing in and out of my house. I would want to know who broke into my house and went through all my stuff fist. I don't know if I could stand the long wait to find out. Very nice work with this one. I look forward to the next chapter.

Yes indeed, Cash's thoughts echo exactly what the reader is thinking. Interesting turn of events around every corner. Enough mystery to keep the readers on the edge of their seats, and still no admitting from Cash his feelings for Paige. But we can tell from the way he responds to the situation that he does have feelings for her. Hopefully they will soon be declared.
Another good chapter.

Cute picture, Barbara. I can just imagine that the two elderly ladies are going to add some spice to the story! Good chapter.

Hello Barb anoter great chapter.
I see two new characters in your story.
I guess I will learn more as your novel goes on
I take it your have a reason for writing this about Cash--

Cash laughed. "He paints his fingernails?

What a cute dog. A great chapter here and don't worry about dragging it out. I look forward to reading a piece every week. You break your story at good points to continue on the next week. It is an enjoyable and well written story. Keep up the good work. Do you teach summer school, or will you get a break? Debbie

We have summer school, but I have elected to take a break. I need a rest. I have scheduled myself to do about 9 or 10 trainings during the summer. I want to push Anna's story for publishing this summer. Thank you for the kind review.

Another mystery in this great novel! I'm very anxious to find out who the two ladies are. One of them wouldn't be a psychic by any chance, barbara? Well, I can hope.

Warmest regards, Bev

This puppy's little face could steal anyone's heart for sure. This is a good chapter. it must be hard to have to wait a whole week to put up another part of a chapter. If you have time would you mind reading "Old Time Boot and Shoe Strings" for me. I needed to promote it a little more but my eyes wouldn't let me read anymore and Janie always pitches in and helps me but her mom was in the hospital and she had cataract surgery the day after she got her mom home. God loves you and so do I.

The elderly ladies should be interesting. I'm guessing they are Paige's relatives or some snooty types poking their noses in for whatever reason - something to do with the house and its history. Great name Ethel. Think that fell out of favor for a name after Desi and Lucy. Who wants to be named after a grade of gasoline? LOL And my daughters complain I named them old women's names!

she had this Maurice guy, coming - drop the comma
she's a friend, who needs help - drop the comma
I love the humor in the dialogue in this chapter - it really makes your characters likable :-) Brooke

I have deleted the commas. Have I mentioned before that I hate commas?? Thank you for the wonderful review and eagle eye.

If everyone who hates commas had to send me a dollar in some kind of chain letter scheme, I would be a rich and happy woman :-)

I'm sure you would. We had a discussion about them at lunch today. My guys hate them too. Steven, my youngest son, mentioned he hated grammar in general because of all the exceptions.
