Actually, though I haven't read the other posts, this one does make a good bit of sense, and you can figure out how some of the characters fit together through the dialogue. The dialogue does ring very true; these characters have great speaking voices, and the bit about the toothpick was funny and very real. Now I need to know who Ethel is!

Great puppy shot. Fun read, especially how snobbish the ladies are and Cash's reaction. In real life, it would be fun to be a fly on the wall. :)

This is a rather different chapter than others. Sorry I've been so busy I haven't been able to read them all. I try to follow the people in the story.
Morgan brought memories, we never bought a pet,. always adopted the ones that were homeless, it was very gratifying. I didn't like the answer the short lady gave Cash.
I enjoyed this chapter and are looking forward for the next.

Thank you. I have four adopted pets myself, right now. Thank you for the kind review.

The story continues to progress swimmingly. Billy Joe's dialogue with Cash contains a needed bit of humor. So does that bit with the two ladies at the end.

"Ethel, he's obviously hired help. Don't waste your time." Ha ha ha. Good stuff.

Hi Barbara - another great post. Almost unfair to stick the pix of the cute little puppy. Who could pass that up. I had to smile about Cash not being worried about Maurice. Bill

Hullo Barbara Wilkey ....

Paige's new home is certainly becoming a hive of activity on the part of quite a variety of different people.
In this is short chapter, you have one small correction needed.
* You forgot to put the opening inverted commas before
You're protesting way too much.
* You have - had gotten out ... is that everyday language in America, I wonder?
Now, I look forward to the next chapter.
Love from ... Nanette Mary.

You're getting pretty good at this.

You're executing sequentially, but I would like to see you experiment (and possibly mistakes) to widen your capability. I know - I'm always pushing you - but I KNOW you have the skill

Go on - push with a reflective sequence or something like that

Well done

Michael

I will give it my best effort. That's one of the reasons I missed you. You were hard on me, but it helped.

Hi Barbara,

'Ladies' who treat people in that manner are no 'ladies.' I grew up with servants, and I never ever heard my grandmother, a real 'lady' address any 'hired help' in anything other than a courteous manner. I'd have got a hiding and been made to apologise if I'd dared to treat a 'servant' that way. Obviously this pair think they're royalty! I trust Paige will send them packing!

I'm curious enough to wonder where this is going next. Cash is right, this place does have revolving doors on it, and as for some of the folk using them ...

Well done.

Patrick

Thank you for the kind review. Since I went through chemo, I have a lady come in a few times a week to help me. I can't keep up everything. Anyway, She's like family to us and I treat her that way.

It is a pleasure to read this installment and see your story developing. I like your very down to earth dialogue and realistic characters. Jeffrey

A good post. I wonder what's going to happen with these women now? Cash is smitten. He just won't admit it. :D

Nice hook to leave us with, Barbara.
