I love the story. Molly loved her husband too much. She had to follow him. That happens quite often. Storms were a important part of Molly's life. There was one when her son was born. There was one when her husband died. She overcame her fear at last. Great work.

This is one of the best stories I have read in my lifetime. Though it was a "fiction" it relates to a feeling inside me, and I feel it deeply. I love the expressions. The way it was written and the tragical end.

I have been touched by love and have been carried away by lust, have done things in the name of love, but until a few year ago, I didn't understand that deep enduring love transends the commercials with beautiful young people thrown together by their chemistry and a universaldemand to reproduce.
I watch elderly couples wander the aisles of the supermarket, quibbling about the selections, argueing about which brand to choose and I always stop to watch.
Sometimes I see very old people kiss, embrace or hold hands and I am moved to tears.
I got the adjectives and they got the verbs. Some are lucky and some are lucky enough to witness and accept that which they can't have.

WOW! Powerful story. Don't we all wish we could have this kind of life, and death? I only saw a couple of tiny fiddly things that aren't worth mentioning. I think this is my favorite story I've read since joining Fanstory!

just under 58 years. For all practical purposes, my
mom died the day my dad did even though she lasted
another 19 months -- 6.5 months in hospice care.
I have heard of true cases where both halves of a
long-married couple died the same day. As you said,
it doesn't really matter which one went first. They
are eternally together.

I think its a rhetorical question. When a couple dies so closely together the liver temperature is the only way to measure the length of time since death. Assuming that no one came across them that night in a rural setting, I doubt whether the doctor could have answered.
