So the pup is her reason for not leaving. Now she has a pet, and she already has a name for him. Well I wondering if Cash will catch any fish. For a moment I thought those ATF were going to give them some trouble. I have no suggestions.

I really enjoyed this chapter, barbara. Seems like Cash has a lot of preconceptions about Paige. I think he's going to find out she can take care of a dog just fine! Nice touch adding the puppy. Warm regards, Bev

Aww, this pup ain't no mutt, Barbara! Lol! I really like this chapter, it's about a fav subject of mine. Well, 2 favs. Pups and moonshiners. I just posted about a real shiner named Popcorn Sutten. He is dead, after getting caught he killed himself they say. Very sad. Your story is from the law's perspective. I sure wish I could keep up Barb. This is a really superb story. Nice work! hug, Susan

Ah so Paige gets a puppy outta the deal eh? Cash seems to think that she doesn't know how much responsibility a pet is but a gather he'll find out soon enough. Will they catch any fish?

I think I'd make this line read a little different. As it is it sounds like Chas's mother is psychic and knew they'd find a dog.
"He looks hungry. I'm sure Mom put something in the cooler for him to eat."
Maybe:
"He looks hungry. I'm sure Mom put something in the cooler he could eat."

Great post. The dog makes an interesting addition to the story. The ATF men believe Paige's story about the dog, so they believe her and drop the notion that she and Cash are moonshiners. Cash questions Paige about her ability to take care of a dog, which doesn't sit too well. Paige and Cash show they still have quite a few issues to work out and you've shown that well. They seem things that they can overcome, though, such as their different thoughts about Page taking the dog. judi

The dog was a nice twist that I wasn't expecting. It's surprising to me to imagine special moonshine police patrolling in the woods. How much moonshine could one outdoor still actually produce?
I hope Cash manages to get a fish after all that. LOL
