Cash is no different. I don't know what he was thinking when he came up with this plan. I think he was thinking of the fastest way to get to fishing. Thank you for the kind review.

Apparently, Cash does not feel comfortable going to church or is it that he thinks Paige will attract attention? Do Southerners still keep reminding Northerners about the Civil War and the other way around? Could be if these two get married, there will be another Civil War. LOL.

Northerners aren't interested in war, but the Southerns, in many places, are still fighting the war. I was shocked when we moved to SC. They still believe the South will rise again. Every so often it still comes up that I am from the North. Thank you for the kind review.
You're welcome, Barbara. :o)

Their banter is fun, how Paige is trying to mock Southern talk. I think there is some of your experiences in this. I recall being reminded I was a Yankee nearly everyday I lived in Texas, for example.

I get reminded often that I'm a Yankee. I let them know I'm from Northern IL and the Mason Dixie line didn't go that far East, so I am a MidWesterner. LOL Thank you for the kind review.

I was in a bar in Austin with my roommate, who was a native Texan. We were sitting at the bar and ever so often there was a guy in a cowboy hat and boots a couple of stools down who would say something derogatory about Yankees. Examples: Damned Yankees come down here and take all the jobs. (Well if you were such a great worker, that wouldn't happen, now would it). I bit my tongue for a few beers. Then he let fly with another insult - I don't recall what it was. I turned toward him and said, "Look, I have more in common with the first Texans than you ever will have because I'm here as a matter of choice not an accident of birth."
And then my roommate grabbed me by the collar and suggested with leave just as the other guy's friend said, "Jeb, I think he just insulted you."

Okay, wow Paige didn't know Ole Scratch was another term for Devil. Even in DC we know that. She can't be that naive and believable. lol
run the other direction - run in.
hand on the small of Paige's back. on or at the small?
Yes, I'm going there - They need to kiss already. And not the granny peck on the cheek crap either. I'm so ready for the kiss.
I swear you are dragging this out on purpose. Bless your cotton picking heart. lol

Paige is definitely a girly-girl. I often think of Southern women as being ultra feminine. And Cash is in over his head whether he knows it yet or not. Great chapter nicely furthering the relationship between Cash and Paige. Warm regards, Bev

Hi Barbara,
Loved the shoes:D Ok great post too, men would break their necks running in stilettos, we pros no how to do it well.
Lovely post, great dialogue and a sense of a normal reality in this one. As if I watched them from the couch. Great job.
Thanks for sharing.

A much more lighthearted chapter, that is, as usual well written. I really like your description of Paige's "going to church" clothes, and Cash's reaction to them. "She'll stick out like a sore thumb in that dress. At least the sweater covers most of her shoulders."
The only spot that slowed me down a little, was:
"Are you sure you don't want to turn and run the other direction?"
Somehow I could hear Cash saying that, but not Paige, I suspect she would say "in the other direction."
Just MHO
Looking forward to reading the next chapter.

Very interesting. You've kept the characters' behavior consistent. You're developing a great relationship between Paige and Cash. Sometimes her manner and dress style don't fit in with the Southern setting, but she seems to adapt. The atmosphere is great. You do give us the flavor of the South. Great comments about Paige wearing that coral sundress. Great job. judi

This is wonderful girl. I guess if you're planning on going to church you might as well do it in style eh? Then what, fishing afterwards? I liked that you described so well what her clothes were. It sort of let's me get to know her quicker.
