Oh wow. This one is full of suspense. I find myself on the edge of my seat. I would NOT be letting Cash leave if I was her! Lol. I enjoyed it and thank you so much for sharing it. Best wishes

Good chapter. You're building the intrigue very nicely. I agree with Cash - there's something not right in that house.
"If she knew there was a lady in need of help and I didn't offer to help, she'd take me to the woodshed." - Help used twice. You could just say,"If she knew there was a lady in need, and I didn't offer to help, she'd...etc. "
Why'd she do that(?)
Look forward to the next, Barbara.

Barbara,
At least Cash admits that something is wrong with that old house, but what? I enjoyed this read and have only one comment, so technical I hesitate to mention it. Your italicized passages are in a smaller font than the normal ones.

I know and I don't understand why. I used the same size font. I am not sure how to fix it. Thank you for the kind review.

Barbara,
The problem probably has to do with some miscommunication between your word processor and Fanstory's. Maybe Tom can help you.

Excellent reading and I'm ready for the next chapter. I'm whining because I don't have more to read. You did a great job as always.

Cash never seems to be able to get away from that woman. LOL Whenever he tries to, Paige calls him back. When he offers to stay, she tells him to go home. And now he's about to re-check the house, having been told to go home!
Sounds like something is about to happen, if nothing ghost related, then some kind of argument!
Cheers,
DW

I have a feeling Paige is the type of female, men want to get away from but just can't. LOL Thank you for the kind review.

Cash's intuition is telling him something isn't right about the house. Why shouldn't he have a key for it, isn't he going to renovate it? A house that is Chilly would suggest that it is haunted.

Hullo Barbara ....
Yes, your chapters are short .... leaving us all in suspense waiting to know what happens next.
This is well written and interestng and there is nothing to suggest changing.
Now, I look forward to your next chapter
Love from .... Nanette Mary.

Thank you for the kind review. I don't post short chapters to frustrate my reviewers, really. I just work all week and I only get to work on my writing on weekends after my housework, lesson plans and bills are paid.

You are forgiven! Just keep on writing!!

this is very well written, barbara, you did a great job writing this chapter where both cash and paige both see the shadow. paige thinks it's a ghost, cash thinks it is somebody in the house.

It is nice to have such a friend as Cash. He makes sure she is safe every time. Wish they'd hurry up and become more than friends. LOL. Then she wouldn't have to worry at all.
