Those places would make my skin crawl also. Your writing very defiantly draws attention to the scary side of Savannah. Great job.

I do like it when a chapter end leaving me impatiently wondering 'What comes next?'
That is just what your latest chapter has done. As always your natural dialogue and atmospheric writing holds the reader all the way through.

Great stuff, maintaining your usual high standard.

Hi barbara,

As I am familiar with Savannah's history I think your doing a great job with the tour scenes. I like the slow build up with this couples relationship. Your story is believable, has a good flow and is well written. I can't wait to read more.

Lots of interesting history here, yet delivered in a natural and interesting way so that it doesn't seem dry or tedious. The two main characters are obviously not at the forefront of these events but there is still a sense of their relationship and of their personalities. I enjoyed this chapter and will look for more.

Sorry I've missed so many chapters but it was easy to jump back in. Good pacing, fine dialog and interesting, well researched information about Savannah (which I have visited). Can't comment on character and plot development at this point, but the writing is fine and fluid. No superfluous words, adverbs or speech tags. tight and clean.

Just few nits and suggestions...

"You are so right, my dear."

Suggest using contraction

"You're so right, my dear."

Constructed in 1851, the Marshall House is the oldest hotel in Savannah and is reportedly one to the most haunted places in this city

one to - shouldn't it be one of?

"Today(,) guests have reported seeing a young man holding his own severed arm and searching for someone to reattach it.

Good work.

Warmly, rd

This is a well written chapter that goes a long way to capture the ghostly atmosphere of the places described, and it certainly succeeds. You present vivid images with narrative, and short, but effective use of dialogue. Good show!

This part of the story may be a bit slow, but I feel it is necessary for the overall storyline. Well written. I couldn't find any gremlins.

Lots of disease and suffering, in this chapter as death took many forms. Yellow fever epidemic causes an agonizing death, no doubt lots of moaning and screaming as the grim reaper made his rounds. Throw in some ghost stories into the mix and it gets even more interesting.

Interesting stuff. I'm sure I'd get the creeps too if I were taking the tour. Is that a real tour they give in Savannah? Great job.
