You mention a couple of situations in this chapter that can lead to 'ghosts' being restless, barbara. Often when there is remodeling or reconstruction of any kind, it will stir up the energy. Even ghosts don't like changes to their environment. Also, the site of a tragic death. So, I feel your chapter is an accurate portrayal of what we currently know about ghostly manifestation. Well done ... very much enjoyed the history. Warm regards, Bev

Savannah's full of fun tours, and this is the "funnest", Barbara. How is cash going to work on Paige's house after this, I wonder. I anticipate some funny reactions. Well done.
By the way, Sherman loved the South and wanted the war to end quickly. His army traveled light and had to forage for food along their route, which led to destruction when people tried to protect their own. Crops and livestock were confiscated to feed the invaders. Wealth was looted against the General's orders. It was by Sherman's sole efforts that the Confederacy was treated with mercy in accordance with President Lincoln's wishes rather than punished as a conquered nation as most of Congress wanted. But no, most Georgians don't appreciate that. :) nancy

This story sounds to me full of true historical information and very real. In this chapter I loved how you explained in details all about the underground tour around Savannah, I specially was impressed by this:
"During the yellow fever epidemic not everybody could be buried in consecrated ground and were buried at home."
WONDERFUL job Barbara!!

This was another great read about the history of Savannah. I also like how you mixed the historical facts by the tour guide with the tourists dialogue so it had a bit of space in between.
There is a part near the end where you wrote: Tools started missing.
I know you said errors in dialogue are intentional, but I'm not sure if this sounds right. Maybe it should be: Tools went missing - or: Tools started disappearing.
I enjoyed this once again, and look forward to your next post.

Hey there Barbara
Honey when you get a clue where this is headed, please let me know. I am loving this, and just about the time I think I git a clue, damn if you don't change directions. This is great, and i love ghost stories

Thank you for the kind review. I know where I am going, but the stinker in me has to keep my readers guessing. Now you know where my 4 boys inherited their stinker quality.

Technically accurate. Enjoyed your use of dialogue tags and setting description.
Only small pointer would be to keep background information to a minimum. Of course if it is essential to the future story line, well yes it is needed, but sometimes less is more when set against the pace of the scene.
Stephan King wrote a great book 'On Writing' he said to be ruthless when it can to historical data entry into your story. Yes, it is needed. But the shorter and faster you get the foundation done the better. Your story is in the here and now, no yesterday - no matter how interesting you might find the background story, it can read slow in ghost story.
With that long babble said, I did really enjoy your story.

Hi Barbara,
I really enjoyed the history about Savannah and Sherman. None of that had I heard about. I am about convinced that Paige does have a ghost or maybe more than one. Cash was shaken when he saw that man and woman and it seems that is staying with him. He seems reluctant to tell Paige but I think he will have to sooner or later. Excellent chapter....blessings, chey

Think continuing is good, it enlivens the story. I was always told Sherman didn't burn Savannah because he had a girlfriend there, don't know, All mama's people are from GA. Enjoying.

Thank you for the kind review. I am only repeating the history I have researched. Only Sherman knows for sure, and he's not going to tell us.

As you say, no one really knows, either way, this is an interesting story. I am enjoying it a lot. Look forward to more.
