Hi barb, this was a very informative chapter and very well-written. I didn't find anything to crit this time. content wise, I'm not sure if all the history has anything to do with the story? I found that there were too much info for readers to absorb at one time in this and previous chapter. I'd be more interesting if we see the place thru paige's eyes, and listen to the guide talk on things that would relate or affect the story only. Just my views. Still, you did great with the writing here. I'm sure others, especially those who know the place would enjoy all the history.

Wow very interesting read and a little history of Savannah which I have never visited and I live in GA but I hope to go soon. Anyway this chapter is fantastic and I'm looking forward to hearing how the romance unfolds although the ghost part scares me-smile.

Your suspense id building beautifully, as is your tension.
I'm impressed with your dialogue, it rings true. No trying to use "BIG WORDS" to impress the readers.
I don't see anything I'd change.
Loved the last line. (imagine, a woman being quiet!)

A friend of mine by the name of Bill Sherman moved from Minneapolis to Augusta. There are one or two Bill Shermans in Georgian, but none with the name William T. Funny she didn't realize how much he is still despised. Sharp writing. Ray.

Good storytelling, such attention to detail and historical facts. You certainly have done a great deal of research.
The only phrase that I found confusing was
"Tools started missing". Did you mean that tools went missing? It is the only phrase in an otherwise perfectly written prose that does not seem to make sense.
Cannot wait for the next chapter.
