Good continuing chapter, Barbara.

Now we can say Savannah has the prudiest (purdiest?) Southern Belle living in the purdiest house in Georgia.

After Paige locked the door and slipped the key into her jeans pocket, (the they) walked toward the river.

Paige sipped her tea, "Ugh.(,)" and wiped her mouth.

A great chapter - I'm really hooked, Barbara.
I like the character, Cash - he's quite
the charmer. And I particularly enjoyed
the history you've added along the way.

Most enjoyable.
Margaret

This is a very enjoyable piece. I like the way your story is developing and you provide a lot of vivid imagery about two different culture; Southern and Northern.
GREAT CHAPTER Barbara!

Hi, barbara. You've got all the right elements in place for this to be a great Romance/Mystery. I felt I was reading something off a book shelf. You've either read a lot of them or you're just a natural.

I like both Paige and Cash. We have a few haunts locally rumored to have the spirits of Al Capone who used to come up from Chicago with his gang for some R&R LOL. I imagine a pirate would have similar energy. Anyway, you've got me totally hooked. Warmest regards, Bev

Hi Barbara:)
Cash seems to be quite a charmer as he makes small talk with Paige. He seems to be taken with her Yankee beauty, as they walk down toward the Savannah River.

I like the way you add local details and history to the conversation. It makes the dialog sound natural.

Does Cash have more than a cheeseburger on his mind as the take Paige to a small cafe. Is the waitress more than a casual friend.

This is a well-written chapter that lays more groundwork for the novel. I want to read more, always a good sign.

Love and Irish Hugs,

Roger

This is such a wonderful chapter! The pacing is excellent and the dialogue very natural - I was going to point our what I thought was a typo in the dialogue, but upon reading you author notes, I'm not 100% sure. I'll mention it anyway, just in case - when Cash is speaking in the southern dialect, he says 'purdies't, but one of the 'purdiest' is misspelled: prudiest. Otherwise, it's beautifully flowing and very enjoyable (as always!)

No, I don't think she'd want Blackbeard haunting her house. Kind of a bummer, I've missed out on a few chapters. I'll have to try and catch up.

Anyhow, I didn't catch any nits and the chapter flowed smoothly. Great job!

This is well written and interesting. I will need to go back to get the first part so I can tie it in, but it sounds intriguing. Yeah, and what about that large tip? Now was Karen getting jealous? I guess I will have to go back to see about her feelings about Cash. She sure is not stopping to be entertained by him. Good read

Barbara,

I enjoyed this chapter about what is a developing romance. And Paige feels the first pangs of jealousy. My own take is that Cash and Karen are just friends - that he has often eaten at that restaurant.

Here are a couple of suggestions:

"...key into her jeans pocket, the couple [they] walked toward the river." They aren't a couple yet, although I'd bet it happens.

"As they walked, Cash pointed out the different squares and historical interests [sites]." Yes, Savannah is loaded with small squares that interrupt the downtown streets.

"Of course, two cheeseburger baskets, please." I love this passage. Isn't Paige sorta uppity for a woe-man?

Dave
