Well written thought out piece. One thing I wonder is paper not scarce and is he educated for him to write so eloquently? I could find no errors. Looking forward to the next chapter!

That was cool, looking forward to seeing where this story is heading. Didn't catch any glaring mistakes, and you did a really good job in telling of the condition of the southern troops at that time.Waiting for more!

Again I didn't find any nits or spags to help you fix. You really write clean. I kinda hope this isn't about the civil war, I'm not a big war buff, though I do read Nor84's Han's books. I guess I'll continue and see where your story leads

and wrote to [the pregnant wife] he'd left in Savannah - sounds detached. suggest:

Interesting read. I was wondering how much past history was needed for the main story overall, and what time frame does main story take off from? It looks like there is a good amount to go, from where it is left off from.
No corections I can see that need being done. I look forward to the next part.
