Rating of Chapter 7 - Rule #1: Finish First
I am your friendly neighborhood stalker today. We are having a snow storm here and I am tucked in with my laptop to read before my class with Brooke starts. Then after free verse class it will be time for your webinar.
Congratulations on your first place win for this contest. It doesn't surprise me in the least.
Excellent story, though I think I missed the sounds the contest asked for. I must re-read and focus better.

Rating of Chapter 6 - The Lady at the Door
So it was the aunt next door that was having the affair with this woman's husband? I am confused by the phone call at the end because I thought they were very close neighbors. I guess anyone can surprise us at any time.

They were VERY CLOSE neighbors. The aunt knew enough about the visit from what her niece had said to kind of realize what was going on. She also saw the lady leaving, so she called to see what had happened. Sorry if it wasn't clear.

Hey Robyn. You captured my state of mind lately on how I feel about my parent situation. I know life is changing and I am trying to deal with it like a big girl. Inside I want to have a temper tantrum. I think you put a pang in my heart with:
"Already, I could feel my empty places filling up."
I think you hit the nail on the head and allowed me to understand what I am feeling better. Thanks for that kiddo!
My nephew is buying my mom and dad's house and I am having an inner temper tantrum over that. It will never be the same.

I understand completely. My grandparent's house, where I was raised, was torn down. This story is about that in a lot of ways.

I like this one a lot, Robyn. I have reached an age where I have been thinking about my path in life and why I haven't made any contribution to society. I hope I can get passed this stage. Anyway, your story put thoughts in my head and I could relate to this character quite well. I never had a bright future ahead of me so I can't relate to that. But I think we all wonder about what could have been at some point in our lives.

Thanks, Joy. I like that you could relate to this character. That makes me happy!

I think the best writing is the stuff that reaches into your soul and makes you feel like you're not alone. You are in that neighborhood with this story.

Rating of Chapter 2 - The Glass Ornaments
This is a very entertaining story. You have quite the imagination to come up with the ideas you write about. Very heartwarming :)
"What have I done?" he said to himself?" - I don't see a need for the second question mark.
