I've never thought about what the loss of a guide dog would mean to a blind person, but it is obviously something that happens quite often since people outlive dogs. I can imagine how worried Cathy is about Suzi, who has disappeared, and you've certainly made me curious why this new dog frightens her so much. You've given good background information and already have me involved. Brooke

Hey Brooke! Happy New Year and congrats on being the #1 Poet of the Year. Of course, that's no surprise to anyone who reads your stuff.

Thank you so much for the wonderful comments. I would imagine the bond between a guide dog and her person would be about as close as one could get. Sometimes writing this story is hard, kinda gives me the goose bumps!

    Thanks for the great review,

    Hugs,

Great start to what I am sure will ba another very interesting book with an equally compelling story. Not entirely unexpected that I would see the star doberman in the first chapter. Very well done.

Why I don't believe in her... think you meant why don't I..

This was a well written first capter. The beginning pulled me in and the back story intrigued me. The imagery you created was outstanding. Glad to be getting in on this in the first chapter. Great job.

I'm so excited to have gotten in on this story with Chapter 1. You have done a masterful job of conveying some of the issues a person faces when their sight is lost.
This story opened my eyes to what it must be like to have a guide dog and lose it for any reason. The hell of learning to trust combined with the grief would be overwhelming. You have portrayed that emotional state very well.
Thanks, I looking forward to the next chapter.

A really interesting opening chapter. It feels as if your have capture the perfect empathy for your recently blind character. It has a very nice flow with just enough detail to really put your reader in the story. Your characters are likeable and seem very realistic, with excellent dialogue. A very good start.

Showtimebook, You give a lot of information that seems accurate, but I've had no experience with this. But it sounds right. I can see the anger, the resistance to conseling, then the progress away from anger. Also, her attachment to the first dog is very well done. I rated it high because of all these positive things. One thing I question is that Cathy would be able to paint? Well, you do say she did "designs." Maybe it's possible and maybe you know of blind visual artists, so, okay, I'll believe that too. There's a problem in line 1, paragraph 9, a typo.

    Hi Chnageisgood,

Hello, I'm Gayle, nice to meet you!

Thank you so much for the wonderful comments.

Is that typo 'facade'? I didn't catch that on the first go-round. That horrible EE - Evil Eddie the Advanced Editor! Got me again.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again!
