Hahaha. This was funny. Although I think Joan Baez needs some serious psychological counseling. Lol. I liked the way you wove the song titles into the dialogue. Very fun piece of writing. Gretchen

That is great I think a few of the bands are a bit before my time but I recognised all of the bands and most of the songs. I started to buy records in the nineteen eighties and so I'm quite familiar with writing Ozzy Osbourne on my books. A subtle hint for you there.

Pretty funny flash fiction story. I saw a few of them in concert. The Who were so loud my ears rung for hours after the concert.

I would add a bit more story than all bands and songs.

Oh my, John, but this was a cute romper room style piece of work.

I do often ding myself wondering what kind of music they listen to in those places.

I think you may have nailed it.

Hi John, a fun look at our Rock Musicians during their golden years.

Of note:
--"Behave yourselves before I take away your jello cups"

(Oh, No. Anything, but don't take away our Jello cups.)

Also:
Hmmm. If they started a band and called it, 'The Old Farts',

(Just sharing. My husband plays guitar with a group of men. I call them the "Geritols." Big-teeth smile. A fun story, but seriously ... don't take their Jello away. Margaret

This is a well-put-together piece, John. I loved hearing all those old titles again and then interwinding them in conversations of retired musicians is a brilliant way to present it.

I loved this one! Best, JohnC

So, this is a real place, John? Where? California?

I enjoyed this story featuring many of the musicians - and their famous songs - that I'm familiar with.

Could these old guys still rock 'til they drop? My money says they could blow the roof off the place!

Thanks for sharing something a little different; I liked it:-)

    Absolutely.
The Casa di Riposo per Musicisti is a home for retired opera singers and musicians in Milan.

I don?t think the likes of these rockers would go?

Thank you for reading and sharing, Pam.

Thanks for this terrific trip down memory lane of our favorite groups from the 70s and 80s. Very amusing and clever how you worked so many song titles into this piece, John. I still think music from that era was among the very best of its kind and so much more fun to listen to than today's stuff. - Jim

Inventive, and yet it had me consider how far from rock and heavy music I lived as a boy or young man. My go to music was Motown, and groups like the Four Seasons, Beach Boys and Beatles, and prior to that all those
I-talian lads singing a Cappella.

Those groups are iconic as well. The music from the mid 50?s to the 70?s is probably the best of all time.

    Thanks Tom.

I wholeheartedly agree. I was addicted to record hops and needed a towel moving as I did. Slop, Stomp, line dances, jitterbug, cha-cha.s Great times.

Lol. Good use of all those song titles to bring up a host of famous rock and folk legends from the 1960s and onward. I think they would still be popular with even with our grandchildren!

My son is 42 and knows all the songs and bands I loved growing up. He has so many on his "play lists".

    Thank you, Helen.

So cool! I think it's wonderful that we don't have the generation gap with our kids in music !
