A poignant wee poem that tells so much in so little words and conveys much emotion. I know how the world's geopolitical situation is affecting you, and scaring you. It does me too but you are so much closer to "front lines."
The information you receive is much more accurate than the filtered media slop I am fed. It must be very hard to be so close to this mayhem, and very frustrating.
I'm sorry for your situation and for what it's worth I send you much love.
Hold on to your strong faith :)

Even here we are fed censored news..

I go on the internet and listen to people like Scott Ritter, former Marine Corps Intelligence Inspector he has worked with the IDF and three other important former CIA officers.

Ritter speaks up about the rot in America, in Israel and in Ukraine.

He is in constant contact with those near the battlefield both in Ukraine and Gaza.

We don't know what is happening half the time in France or Germany, our leaders don't want us to know that the EU is falling apart and that people all over Europe are not happy with the choices made by our leaders.

I also follow two country fellowmen who understand that our PM Meloni does not have our best interests in mind.

NATO is planning a 100 billion euro aid fund for Ukraine.

Our health systems is crumbling, our roads, bridges, and road tunnels need urgent repairs, yet all our tax money goes to Ukraine.

I get depressed seeing my country falling to pieces.

I appreciate your concern and your kind words and I will try to keep strong.

    Keep safe!

"My Dear Poet. Fret not. Don't forget to remember. You have a redemption.
Your savior cares. Just be thankful in all things. He'll reward your gratification. He'll make you free from your inclement sea.

Ciao Rhonnie, I will keep your words in mind when I get a bout of depression.

I wish I could pretend all is well , like many do to cope this dark reality

It's only six words yet says so much.
' I feel like driftwood at sea'
It gives a feeling of abandonment, loneliness, hopelessness, drowning.
A very effective six words. Well done.

It?s hard to be optimistic when you see everything fall apart. My country but also the world in general.

I wish I could be like many that pretend all is well.

Feeling adrift is something most of us feel at one time or another. It makes us uneasy and temperamental. You are to be commended for conveying that state of mind metaphorically in only six words. Rod

When I read the contest requirements, that line came to me immediately.

My country is literally falling apart our public health system is a shamble , there is no work , the cost of living is choking us ,

and I see our leaders are continuing to make illogical even suicidal decisions that are not in our best interest.

Like sending NATO troops to Ukraine .. the war was over already last September but Biden needs to drag the war on because if he declares Russia has won now he would more likely lose the election.

So more billions must be wasted ( many Americans need financial help ) and more lives must be sacrificed for a lost cause just so Biden can hide the truth that the war is lost in Ukraine.

I don?t even want to mention the mess in the Middle East.

Our leaders have their own private agendas and they don?t care an hoot about us citizens.

I wish I could just pretend all is well like many do to keep sane.

Our leaders are a bunch of lunatics.
