This is a lovely sunset scene you've painted here in your flowing, colourful sentiments. The descriptive detail you've included - the aromas, the changing light, the flora and fauna - all add richness and delight to this post. I wondered about the word: painbrush and assume that's the correct spelling. It's always helpful, particularly for a contest, to add author's notes. Love the imagery in the third stanza. This poem- amazing! So very beautiful! I lived in Tahoe, went to high school there for 2 years, before that we'd go up to Tahoe (from Mill Valley) as kids for Christmas vacation. They say Lake Tahoe is sacred. I can almost smell the forest with your verbal paintbrush! What a talent! Thank you, it did my heart good to read this work of art, for this area to be honored like this!

Beautiful picture. Is it a painting or a snapshot? Yours or another's? The thought came after reading whether there were elk and fish in the scene - no; however a contest may be in the making where a picture is posted and then contestants write about what they see. What do you think?
