This is excllent stroy. I always enjoy your writing and I certainly can't find anything wrong with this husband getting is throat cut. I'm just wondering what would have happened if he hadn't decided against flipping on the light switch. I guess you wrote it that way to make us think the assassian had slit the wrong neck and give us the surprise ending where it turns out he was the wife's lover and had planned the murder of the judge.

Thank you so much, Beth, for your extra special six-star review and kind words. I'm one of those people who like for the bad guys to get what they have coming to them, no matter how gruesome. LOL. I'm glad you liked my foolishness. I appreciate YOU!

I don't know if you are a Bible reader or not, but this story reminds me of the story of Esther. A vengeful man named Hamon schemed to cause he death of all the Jews living around or near him. His scheme went awry and the gallows he had caused to be built to execute his main rival was instead used to execute him. Warning the death you intend for another may well wind up being your own.

So, I kinda figured the "assassin" would be her ride she told Teresa about. Even so, it was a delight to find out that I was right in my assumption. May they both live happily ever after.

The title is great - justice is supposed to be blind, and in this case justice was served and the authorities are blind to who did it.

I really liked this, Ric. You always paint a great scene that the reader can drop into. The only thing that kept me reading this horrible story of abuse (all too true) was knowing that you wouldn't let Sienna down - you would give her justice.

So glad when you post these gems.

Thank you so much, Pam, for your extra special six-star review and kind words. I'm so glad you liked it. It's a little outside my comfort zone, but you're right in that I was never going to let Sienna not get even. LOL. Thanks again for your awesome review. I appreciate YOU!

Whoa, this was vivid and mesmerizing all the way through. It's easy to rush stories like this, but you paced the action and developments out just right, transforming from scene to scene. The overall mood is of course disturbing with all the corruption and decadence and violence. But there's a nice sense of "justice served" for Sienna in the end.

The writing style itself is nicely polished and I can offer no suggestions, which is kind of rare for me.

I could see you filling in the background information on these characters and turning this into a full-length novel.

So nearly a 6 for me, but! I regret to say I am slightly confused about how she met up with the killer. I was presuming that in the dark he, the man employed by the judge, mistook and thought he was killing Sienna. How does she get with him? And you said 'never to be found'! Coincidence, or have I missed a layer of nuance? Otherwise it is your usual fantastic, rich and vivid writing. I was, as usual, utterly gripped throughout. Don't apologise for the length, it was too good to stop.

Thank you so much, JSD, for your generous review, comments, and kind words. Like in many cases, I have a tendency to leave a few things for the reader to figure out on their own, rather than hold one's hand throughout. I wanted readers to think Sienna could have been waiting for her killer accomplice to meet her, or that he could have simply searched her out and hooked up with her later. I'm glad the length didn't bother you too much. Much appreciated!

Thank you for sharing this story with us. The judge got exactly what he deserved. It seems the man he hired to kill his wife helped his wife get away. An interesting twist. I enjoyed reading.
