I'm with you Linda. I hate the new site too. Remember that old saying , (Don't fix it if it's not broken!) I feel as you do. I paid to use the old site, now I can't. My eyes are failing me now and I can't keep up with all the movement on the new site so I won't be paying for another year. I guess we are not important as long as they have enough paying members. I have been grateful he let us stay on but I guess it is over for us. I will be searching for another distraction . God bless you and keep you. Nancy:)

Hi Nancy, we were told when he first put the new site up...the one that ruined the look and feel of FanStory...it was easier to get
around the old site...simple...easier to post...
Tom said we could have our choice because people were going to leave if he shut down the old site...so he left it up...hoping people
would jump over to the site of technology...
well a lot of people chose not to change...I'm guessing over the years that's were new people go when they join...
and another thing that makes me mad...is we paid for the FanStory
site we were on...
I'm so sorry Nancy your having trouble with your eyes...and the old site worked better for you...I'm hearing more about people who hate the new site...

Hi Tom, you came on FanStory when they were putting
new people on the new site...so new people never got to use the old
site...it was a much better site...easier to use...and it was easier to
get around...when the new one first came out...Tom was going to shut down the old site...but so many people said they would leave...so he left it up...told people to use the site of choice...he tried to get people to move over...but most liked it where they were...
When you couldn't get on the other night...FanStory was shut down for Maintenance...and something went wrong...Debi was trying to post a poem...and everything went nuts...
I couldn't get back on...and when I finally did...Tom took me off the old FanStory...sigh...I hate the new one...like you...if it isn't broken...don't try to fix it...

You can call me clueless. I am accustomed to sites changing often to keep up with new developments, as a guard against hackers, etc. I am not bothered by the changes as I am able to do what I have always done and that is good enough for me. I am sorry you were inconvenienced, but I do not know what if anything can be done.

My husband did a search and found classic.fanstory.com and pulled it up for me. We tried it because we had nothing to lose. Well, my white page issues disappeared on the classic version and I made the switch.
I asked Tom about this and he said they are one and the same website now. But... my bedeviling problems are gone, so why would I go back to the other? Apparent to me is the difference at the USER LEVEL! I don't run FanStory, I just want to use it to do my writing and check in with my fan friends. It shouldn't be this complicated. When FanStory was down for hours last week, so was I. It said: maintenance, be back shortly. So there's truth that both are the same site, not two separate sites. One thing is sure, classic.fanstory.com it's much simpler and less problematic than the other. I wish I could explain exactly why, but I cannot.

That's ok Jim...the first FanStory was
a better one then the new one...
Tom installed new technology into
FanStory...and ruined the look and feel of the old site...a lot of people loved that site...😢

Hi Helen, I figured this is the best way to find out what happen...
I think when Fanstory shut down for maintenance ...something went
radically wrong...Debi said when she post a poem...everything went nuts...I wasn't the only one who couldn't get back on...but I don't know if those people get shut off the same site they were on...
Thank You my caring friend for all your help...and for a wonderful review...it's in God's hands...I just wish I were back on the old site...
what's sad Helen is we are losing so many wonderful people...
