I sometimes feel the urge to leave a short comment but cannot spin it out to 150 characters. Why cannot I do this, perhaps for no reward?

Unless things have changed, it's one hundred fifty characters. Characters include punctuation and I think even the space between words. It isn't hard to do, particularly if you're making suggestions to the writer about how to improve something.

A lot of reviews are simply opinioned responses to opinions. You are not necessarily called upon to know the form, POV or meaning of a post. So write freely about your opinion. Just don't lower a star because you don't agree with someone's opinion. :)
