Fifty years.... both giving up hope of reuniting. People they lived with weren't unkind, but it wasn't the same.
Ethel exited the trailer, stared; leaden legs became wings. She ran toward Phillip. His steps matched hers.
The two elephants intertwined trunks, and the trainer saw a tear leave Ethel's eye.
