Day 16 of National Poetry Month
A chapter in the book An April shower of Poems
He arose

The New Testament instructs us to remember the Lords death, burial and resurrection every first day of the week. We do that by partaking of the emblems he gave. The unleavened bread, which represents His body on the cross, and the fruit of the vine, grape juice, which represents His blood shed for our sins. I write this to remind us of His willing sacrifice on our behalf. The 'Christian' world thinks of this time, one time per year, when in truth we are to celebrate that event every Sunday. I hope you can relate to the simplicity of this short poem.
