Not many know how tasty this fish is....

The Turbot.

by Enrico Langfordino

I am a Turbot flatfish, unique in many ways,
I neverlook down, gaze into the blue
that's how I spend my days.

I'm born S, Maximus, to other fish akin,
but then aquire my differences
when metamorphosis sets in.

That's when I become a Dextral flatfish
assuming that liflong guise,
by lying on my left side, the best way I find wise.

I am a Cephalopod, I hide in camouflage state
keeping as still as the seabed
untill my food must meet it's fate.

My wider family includes, the Atlantic Hallibut and Dab,
the Flounder, the Plaice and the humble Sole
all worthy of the fisherman's grab.

I live the wholeworld over, though I never leave that pond
whereMother 'plaiced' offspring
to each ocean I did bond.

The Turbot lives in every ocean on earth. And is one of the most sought after for a 'Fishy' meal.
