No longer hold on to what couldve been.

I still forget we arent friends

by Joshua Azure

"My mind a maze, where memories blend.

Acceptance eludes me, like a fleeting dream,

As I recall the way your cheeks puff up with a smile, so serene.

The scent of roses wafts, transporting me back,

To moments we shared, with laughter and no lack.

But reality checks, like a harsh awakening,

Remind me we're strangers, with no connection making.

I try to sleep, in a world that has your presence,

But your ghost haunts me, with every resistance.

My heart still holds on, but I'm learning to let go,

Embracing the present, and a new path to grow.

I'm finding my way, through the darkness and pain,

And slowly discovering, a new life to gain.

No longer longing, for what we used to be,

I'm moving forward, with a heart at peace."
