short poem

guilt

by isabelteeth

  • we are but lilypads floating so calmly losing ourselves in the sky's reflection
  • the sunlight strikes us – do we yearn properly?
  • a gunshot in the attic and the scene cuts. a woman downstairs doesn't know who to apologize to. she is kind to the doorman and hopes it dissolves the need.
  • i laugh at myself when i see them in the moon. it is silent but something falling, over and again
  • i look in the night's eyes
  • she refuses to end secretly
  • our conscience may follow the wind, but it cares for her
