I've Looked Everywhere, Man

by Wayne Fowler

I was getting them together 'pon the cleared off dining table and
Fitting as they should right up 'til I missed a pile of coastal sand
That wasn't where it should have been right near a girl's left hand.
So I got down on my knees to find that tiny bit of pictured land.
And searched the room and house 'til I can't stand.

I looked everywhere, man. I looked everywhere, man.
On my hands and knees man, face down on the floor.

I looked in... corners, crevices, under rugs round-about, underneath, overneath,
On the floor, by the door, on the chair, in my hair,
Over here, over there, I'm a bear.
That puzzle piece gotta be here, man, but I've looked everywhere.

I know I should have worked this a great deal more, but you get the point.
(Thanks to Pam Lonsdale for the concept.)
Apologies to Johnny Cash who might have sold more copies, but Hank's best.
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
