Soul Searching

Seeking to gain spiritual foothold 
Often on tumultuous ground 
Under trying circumstances,
Learning lessons along life's way.
 
Seeking to go ever further
Exposing my innermost being 
As I probe deeper into my motives
Reaching even more into the thoughts 
Catacombing recesses of my mind.
Heart often in conflicting
Intentions of what is right or wrong.
Needing to fully ascertain 
Goodness from evil, the light from the dark.
