The true reality of sexual assault

Consequences of Life

by Lanel Haywood

The author has placed a warning on this post for sexual content.
A rape baby born can never really smile
Her orgin story given changes her lifestyle
She fights the cliche woe is me
But never moves past to what she was meant to be
The love she's due is never given
And the lack of it all causes her to be riven
You all sit in your office and argue your stances
You sit in your churches and give side glances
But we are the people born from the trauma
We are the ones who lack a mama
So your values and morals may be your own
But you're not the one that's stuck alone
The Bible says this and the Quran says that
But neither knows the feeling of being swatted like a gnat
And in the end we all grow up
Depression has won overfilling our cup
"Just get up and start the day"
"You'll never get better if you don't learn to pray"
The words slide so easily from their lips
And they really believe their helpful tips
So we take them with a smile
Never feeling were actually worthwhile
