What God's Made Clear?

by bob cullen

As I am laying down here, beneath this leafy old green tree.
I'm pondering the old question, does life contain symmetry?
Is there some reason for spending life on earth down here?
Or am I simply blind, or just too dumb to see exactly what God's made clear?

It seems pretty obvious, even to an uneducated fool who can't see.
That someone designed this place as a paradise where we could all be,
Satisfied and content and in most ways happy and worry free.
Seems to me God made one mistake, and that mistake was me.

Sometimes when I'm depressed, I think upon and ask, why am I even here.
But then I glance around me, blessings are all I see an' I know you are near.
So, I fall to my knees, and I realise I must overcome my each and every fear.
It's time for me to open my eyes and understand exactly what God's made clear.

Today again I'll lay down here beneath this leafy old green tree.
The same old question comes to me, why do I feel so guilty?
Is there still some reason for spending life on earth down here?
Or am I simply blind, or just too dumb to see exactly what God's made clear?
