the inclination for comparison
the lady with the small dog outside of my window
a yellow scarf coils around her neck
decadent lemons that I left by my unsent letters
Ophelia planted placid among the barren earth
peace in the simplicity of presence
abstract is the essence of all that became of me
I've been sitting here flaccid with each waning crescent
thoughts stole from my mouth this morning
swollen swallows try to release regret
if I never see beyond these confines
understand that my being was my undoing
metallic truths puncture the purity of what was
duality may dormant this vessel
when will they virtue a poet or clairvoyant?
the pendulum stagnates as penance, the fate of 1692
perhaps in another life, they will search for me and my sisters
I'll be the lady with the small dog outside the window
