12 line poem for Valentine's Day

Blue Valentine

Though winter's valentines are marred by snow,
anticipating springtime blossoms' bliss
will generate a thrill we'll gladly share.
When spring is near, I'll blush and reminisce.
There is a gentle gentian in the field
that grows deep-blue as love between us, too.
Our love may never flare dramatic red,
but like the gentian, it's complete and true.
I may recall a hillock where we'd sit,
where gentians sway—the way we used to dance.
I'll sign this valentine and make dreams fit
inside the envelope for our romance.

Iambic pentameter with mostly alternating end rhymes, although the last four lines ended up with an abab rhyme pattern.
