The Poinsettia Plant

Poinsettia

Adorned in your red velvet
trimmed in green,
a hint of glittering gold
gleaming and bold~
Loved and admired
now weary, forgotten...
A beauty not meant to last
the season has passed~
Though once again we will
bestow upon your magnificent
brilliance none to soon,
and gaze again at the vivid
petals of the poinsettia bloom~
