Sleeping Storm

High-tossed tide
below gray haze of clouds
works madly while storm sleeps in distance.

Black-eyed tern
warns other birds to hide,
seek shelter as world turns off-kelter.

Storm clouds mull,
roll in indecision,
then drench anyone still there, fishin'.
