Devon heard his dad's demanding voice. "Bicycling done. Running done. Swimming and we're done."
"Please, Dad. I can't."
"No son of mine quits."
One mile offshore, his competitors pulled away. Exhausted, Devon inhaled and felt his body sink. Tiny bubbles rose to the surface.
Through the bright lights, his soul lifted into the heavens. God smiled, proclaiming Devon the winner.
