New Years Senryu

The topic for this poetry contest is: New Years Senryu.
Write a poem that incorporates the topic of New Years using the Senryu format. Can be funny, serious, sarcastic, philosophical, or romantic, etc. Contest voters will be asked to consider the topic when making a choice for a winner. For those that are not familiar with the Senryu format, I will have a short description in the descussion thread section.
The contest winner will win half of the prize pool of 90.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 2 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.
