The topic for this contest is: Whatever Happened to...?
This is your chance to check in with your favorite famous duo or group. Tell us what happens after the fact.
For example, what if all four Beatles were alive and still touring? What happened to Cinderella and the Prince post-wedding? What if Art Garfunkel had been the huge solo success instead of Paul Simon? Predict where Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will be in ten years. What happens to Winnie the Pooh when Christopher Robin grows up? Can you write a better final Seinfeld episode?
Story can be about any FAMOUS duo or group (no fair writing about that weird old couple that lives down the street). Your subjects can be real or fictional, but they must be easily recognizable to the vast majority of us.
Cartoon characters and fan-fiction are okay!
Write a story that somehow incorporates the topic. The story does not have to be specifically about the topic. But should clearly incorporate the topic into the story.
Creative approaches are welcomed. But contest voters will be asked to consider the topic when making a choice for a winner.
Minimum length 700 words. Maximum Length 7,000 words. Recommended length 2,000 - 3,500 words.
The contest winner will win half of the prize pool which is based on the number of entries. The second and third place winners will each share the remaining prize pool. The prize pool is currently 14.00 member dollars. There are 11 spots still open. If all open spots are used the prize pool will be 36.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 2 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.
