Tetractys

Poetry Contest
Tetractys is a simple and interesting form of poetry. Write a poem, with only five lines. Each line adds one syllable until the last stanza which has ten syllables. See an example and details in the announcement.

Simply add 1 syllable for each line until the fifth line which is 10 syllables.

Line 1: 1 Syllable
Line 2: 2 Syllables
Line 3: 3 Syllables
Line 4: 4 Syllables
Line 5: 10 Syllables



Example:
free (1 Syllable)
from you (2 Syllables)
your ego (3 Syllables)
your blaming me (4 Syllables)
i am a free spirit who has no past (10 Syllables)

They can be written with more than one verse but each subsequent verse must invert the syllable count. There is no limit to the number of verses.

One entry per person. New entries only. Tetractys poetry only.

The winners will be selected by the FanStory.com Contest Committee. A winner will be announced approximately one to two weeks after the deadline passes. The decision is final.


The winner takes away a $100 cash prize. All writers will receive feedback for their submission.
