Cristina DS: Question: how can you block a particular standard member? or any member for that matter? There is no explanation on that anywhere I could read? |

Cristina DS: I would like to thank everybody who reviewed INVENTION. I was trying to get back to each one of you but my computer "freaked out" and erased my over sixty five comments... >:-( I will try again to rewrite the comments I lost, but in the meantime, everybody who responded and enjoyed the poem, know that I am deeply thankful for the comments, views, interpretations of everybody. Know that the last verses - wisdom sprouts from nothingness - is a zen concept. Again I will try again to respond to each and everyone of you. Have a wonderful Friday! :) |

Cristina DS: Do you participate in contests? Do you think it is worthwhile? I have mixed feelings and am trying to make up my mind. Any input is really welcome. |

I have entered a few contests, always gained experience, independently of the result. However, sometimes I find ppl winning in spite of a poem that really does not satisfy the rules of that particular contest, this is just an observation. Thank you both for answering my questions, I really appreciate it. :) -

Cristina DS: Do you ever feel like you need more golden stars than six a week and even more so, feel that you want to be able to give more stars than two a month to certain people with amazing works? I have a few writers I follow to whom I would like to give golden stars, but I can't because I have already reached my quota... Has it ever been discussed increasing or perhaps even abandoning this idea of golden star quotas? Somehow I can't help have the feeling that I am leaving unrecognized pieces that deserved more attention... As I am new here, maybe somebody can give me a feedback on this. Thanks! |

Cristina DS: My name obviously is Cristina. I am Brazilian, living in the US since the 1990's. English is not my first language, my native idiom is Portuguese. Yet, I try the best I can to write, especially poetry, but also some prose in both languages. I realize that sometimes I may fall short of what I intend, but I love writing and poetry is vital to me, in my life, in my days. I don't think I would be able to live without it. I feel very happy about having found this site and I am eager to read and to write and to share with as many as I possibly can. Thanks for having me here! Cristina |

Thanks for the welcome. I look forward to have you read my poems and give me you honest opinion about them. And on the other hand, it will be a pleasure to read your work! Have a good night! -
