I love this poem for its color, its beauty and nice 17 syllables.
I can even visualize the red waves generated by red poppies in the beautiful ocean breeze.

Scarlet waves goes along with the ocean reference, and the word "scarlet" makes me associate it with blood, as with poppies commemorating the war dead. Lovely artwork. judi

Congratulations on your Second Place finish, Gypsy! I was reminded of the poem "In Flanders Fields" about the poppies growing on the World War I battlefield in Belgium. Your "scarlet waves" evoke a sense of the oceans of blood shed in wars.

You definitely are the best Haiku writer that I've ever seen. I really like this Haiku. The idea of poopies creating a wave like an ocean's wave, is exactly what they do out in the fields. Red poppies are gorgeous... the picture is really gorgeous. Love it! -January L.
