The picture selected captures the centuries' old scene around the Venice Grand Canal. You are right that everything in the photograph radiates brightness, happiness and "harmony". I am of one hundred percent Italian descent and enjoyed being transported to a city I have visited in the past. Smiles- Joan

Hi Joan! Glad I didn't upset you. Italy isn't a top choice vacation for me, but there are things I'd like to do there like the Venice Carnival, Cannes Film Festival and watch an exorcism. Lolz. You're nice. Thank you. Hugs, Alicia :)

I've never been to Italy but I have heard about the Rialto bridge and it sounds amazing. Loved how you covered the scene, activities, the foods and culture in this place.

Writing about a specific place and that place is Venice. What a charming one to focus on. So romantic. I was married to an Italian. I love this line in particular, which is so true: "People in Italy pray. They pray for everything." Marilyn

Hi Marilyn. I thought you were a full Italian. Nice people. They always thought I was Italian around NYC, because of my once deep tan. However, that's skin cancer from playing outside and going to the beach all the time in my youth. The freckles are ridulous. It didn't happen to any of my friends, which is very strange. And I was raised with a few Americans that were Italian origins too. It happened to my dad too. He has been dealing with prostate cancer because of it. No need to cry a river. Okay, you're nice. Thank you :)

A very well-written poem about the beauty of Italy where everything seems still in a previous century with canals and gondolas to move from one place to another with ease and very romantic for lovers in the evening.

What a uniquely reflective and introspective piece, Alicia - almost like a stream of conscious for the reader to absorb! ;) You come up with some of the coolest ideas... :) :) Thanx for sharing! ;) Yvette

Sunnilicious,

Your picture is beautiful and your writing expounded it well. You are a pizza lover, how can you not be Italian?

Maybe they don't need masks because they have been in lockdown for a month. They are in worse shape than we are. Alchera, on Fanstory, lives in Italy.

However, it holds plenty (of) stories.

Stories about a (an) old world stuck in old ways

City of Venice is considered (an) underwater mecca as it is often

would be amazing. It is such an amazing (two 'amazing's' in a row weakens them. You might to change one of them.)

Also, they know (knew) you'd become jealous.

Patricia

Hi Patricia. I haven't met Alchera yet. She must be skinny living on pizza. Thank you for the edit notes. You're nice. Thank you :)

Hi.
Very nice writing. I visited Italy 40 years ago. I never visited the magic city of Venice, though.

Your chapter is witty and descriptive. I would love to drop everything and go visit this marvelous city. I like the bright photo. (I did not know they had bridges there. I know, duh.)
Best wishes.
Have a great week.
Cindy

Hi Cindy! Italy isn't a place for my dream vacation. Too much art, fun foods and religious for me. It is nice place. I met a lot of Italians in NY and ate plenty of the foods. I like the pictures around Italy and Cannes Film Festival. I think you should go visit again. You're nice. Thank you. Hearts & hugs, Alicia

I am half Italian by heritage and am used to good Italian food at home, but those chefs in Italy are the best in the world. I would love to travel again to see the art there. I saw the Pieta and David, and they were so beautiful. You are a very successful person; I read your notes.
Best wishes in all you do.
    Cindy.

I love the story that you told. I would love to go to Italy some day. Especially Venice. It does seem so old and beyond all the grip of modern day trappings. The Italians do pray for everything... I suppose it works! Thanks for letting us see the great photo. With respect, -January L.

Hi! You're nice. I hope you do go. If you make it to Italy, I'll take an exotic trip somewhere like Austria. Thank you :)
